Effortless health and living in a sustainable state of thriving (PS – the six pack abs come along for the ride when you focus on foundations first.)   Unfortunately, less than 50% of men say they’re very satisfied with their lives, and that number is declining each year.

 

I’m on a mission to change that … because its worth it!

And I can say that with conviction because…

15 years ago I let the allure of professional success take over my physical, mental, and relationship health.  My financial score card was strong but my health and relationship scorecards were at their lowest.  When I flipped the script (obvious in retrospect but painfully muddy at the time), not only did my health and relationships blossom but I reached new heights financially and professionally.  Today, that trajectory continues up and to the right.

When I Knew Something Had To Change …

Anyone like to travel?  

I do.  

Twenty years ago I was on an epic trip with 8 close guy friends.  We were in Baja, California racing $100,000 off road dune buggies on the legendary Baja 1000 course.  Mid way during the trip we stopped at Hotel California (Yes, that legendary Hotel California) for lunch.  Everyone was laughing, telling stories, enjoying the adrenaline of the day.  One of my friends snapped a picture of me to remember the day.  

It’s still framed , hanging in the front entrance of the house. 

I don’t want to forget that pivotal moment. 

During one of my most epic trips up to that point in my life, I’m passed out asleep in my chair, too exhausted from work leading up to the trip to enjoy the experiences and relationships I was working for.

It wasn’t too  long after my trip to Baja that I committed myself to change.  I wasn’t sure what or how, but I knew exactly what I did NOT want and exactly how I did NOT want to feel.

An Epiphany

After firmly and decisively saying No to a lifestyle that was driving me to early death and unhappiness, I began a health focused journey that continues to this day.  

I sold my technology consulting business, reorganized my professional life for the flexibility to prioritize what matters, and began my health and wellness journey in earnest.  

Ironically my focus on personal health led to more professional and financial success than I’d ever experienced prioritizing my professional life. More on that later.

Aside : Radical career change not required.  Willingness to upgrade yourself and incorporate sustainable habits at your own pace is.  

The Solution? Unmasking A Health Focused, Creative Life

 

At  this pivotal beginning, I didn’t know what I didn’t know.  I deeply immersed in knowledge and experience seeking.  I tried all kinds of workouts from CrossFit to yoga to trampoline jumping to barre fitness and much more.  I investigated different diets and foods, entered fitness competitions, read, researched, and learned. 

I discovered the power of calisthenics, opened a concierge fitness studio, and helped and learned from others on the path to improved strength, mobility and more impactfully, better health and improved longevity.

I trained with big wave surfer Laird Hamilton and learned his methods for ultimate fitness in your 50s and beyond and performing when the stakes are the highest possible : live or die. 

In 2020, as the Covid crisis unexpectedly enveloped the world, I embarked on a 3 year journey to create the ultimate manifestation of healthy living by constructing the Shadow Sanctuary. 

Over 15 years, I developed a framework for healthy living.

Which brings me to what I do NOW… It’s pretty crazy!

Wellness Space Creator

I create wellness spaces ranging from outfitting your home gym to ground up imagining of homes, boutique gyms, and dedicated office wellness environments.   I draw on 12 years of breathing new life into existing spaces ranging from homes to apartment complexes to dilapidated warehouses.  The common theme of all those projects : seeing the potential in an old building, then polishing that diamond in the rough till it shines – Brightly.  Over the last few years, I’ve taken the skills honed on the construction job site and combined them with my passion & experience in the wellness space to create amazing wellness spaces.  What vision can I help you bring to life?

Human Performance Coach

Does life feel an uphill or struggle, low energy, or lacking the tailwinds of motivation and direction?     Time for an upgrade!  I help individuals and teams upgrade their performance with an emphasis on upgrading their health health, wellness, and mindset.  I work 1-on-1 with individuals based anywhere in the world, typically in 90 day intervals.   I work with individuals and teams in person either in my hometown of Houston or the location of their choice (subject to schedule and availability.)   My in person work typically consists of half day, full day, or multi day retreats or workshops.
