About Justin Singer

Entrepreneur & Real Estate Investor.

Passionate About Helping People Thrive.

I’m an entrepreneur and real estate investor with a passion for breathing new life into existing properties. I care deeply about health, human performance, and helping people thrive—and that shows up in the projects I take on, the ventures I build, and the experiences and retreats I regularly host.

Where It Started…

Fifteen years ago, I was running a successful technology consulting business. On paper, everything looked great—strong revenue, growing team, all the markers of success. But my health and relationships were suffering. I was exhausted, disconnected, and running on fumes.

When I flipped the script—prioritizing health and relationships first—everything changed. Not only did my wellbeing improve, but I reached new heights professionally and financially. That trajectory continues today.

What Does It Mean to Thrive?

For me, thriving isn’t about hacks or grinding harder. It’s about building a foundation—of health, of meaningful work, of spaces and experiences that elevate how we feel and perform. That belief shapes everything I do now: the properties I invest in, the ventures I build, and the experiences I host.

When I Knew Something Had To Change …

Anyone like to travel?

I do.

Twenty years ago I was on an epic trip with 8 close friends.  We were in Baja, California racing $100,000 off road dune buggies on the legendary Baja 1000 course.  Mid way during the trip we stopped at Hotel California (Yes, that legendary Hotel California) for lunch.  Everyone was laughing, telling stories, enjoying the adrenaline of the day.  One of my friends snapped a picture of me to remember the day.

That photo still hangs in my house.

During one of my most epic trips up to that point in my life, I’m passed out asleep in my chair, too exhausted from work leading up to the trip to enjoy the experiences and relationships I was working for.

I don’t want to forget that moment. It changed everything.

An Epiphany

After Baja, I made a decision. I sold my technology consulting business, reorganized my professional life for flexibility, and started building differently.

Ironically, putting health and relationships first led to more professional and financial success than I’d ever experienced chasing professional success directly.

That lesson shaped everything that came next.

What Came Next

I dove deep into learning—about health, performance, longevity, and what it actually takes to thrive.

I trained with experts like big wave surfer Laird Hamilton. I experimented relentlessly. I opened a fitness studio in Houston called Mekanix Gym where I could test ideas and learn from others on the same path.

At the same time, I was building something else. I’d always had an eye for undervalued real estate—seeing potential where others saw problems. Over 15 years, I invested in and transformed dozens of properties: homes, apartment complexes, warehouses, commercial spaces.

In 2020, these two paths converged. I embarked on a three-year project to build Shadow Sanctuary—a retreat space in Houston designed around health, restoration, and human performance.

Along the way, I developed my own perspective on what shapes how we live, think, and perform.

Which brings me to what I do NOW… It’s pretty crazy!

Real Estate

I invest actively in real estate with a focus on revitalization and redevelopment. I love seeing potential in spaces that others overlook—and bringing a vision to life.

Over the years, I’ve transformed homes, apartment complexes, retail properties, and warehouses across Houston. I’m also pursuing ground-up development projects, particularly those connected to wellness. The through-line is the same: imagining what a space could become and making it real. The spaces we inhabit shape how we feel, think, and perform.

The same eye that spots a diamond in the rough in real estate is what led me to build Shadow Sanctuary.

Experiences and Retreats

Health and wellness is the foundation of how I live and work.  I’m passionate about sharing this with others because I’ve seen firsthand what’s possible when you invest in yourself.

I host experiences and retreats rooted in health and human performance. Bringing people together around wellness is one of the easiest ways to create meaningful impact on physical health, mental clarity, and emotional wellbeing. Plus, watching people leave with more clarity and energy and making new friends along the way is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Entrepreneur

I’m an entrepreneur. I build and incubate ventures focused on helping people improve their lives.

I’ve been doing this for over two decades—starting, growing, and selling businesses across technology, fitness, and real estate. I love the craft of entrepreneurship: identifying opportunities, building teams, solving problems, and creating something from nothing. The common thread is a commitment to making a positive impact—and a belief that business can be a vehicle for helping people thrive.
